Michael G. Lowes started Lowes’ Landscaping in 1985 as a small close customer based company. Erik Lowes, Michael’s son, took over and expanded the business in 2008 to serve residential, commercial, and municipal customers. In 2013, Erik opened Planted in Stone, the retail division of the company. Lowes Landscaping purchased Clean Cut Lawn Service and expanded its services in Fall of 2013. The company is certified with National Concrete Masonry Association and International Concrete Paver Association

In March 17, 2016, we acquired Peaceful Valley Nursery from David Baxter. David, Landscape Architect and owner of Peaceful Valley Nursery, is a 4th generation nursery grower and installer. In 1882 his Great Grandfather started in the nursery industry with the establishment of Waldbart and Sons Nursery, generating Baxter Gardens, Baxter Farms and Nurseries, Hillside Gardens, Baxter Valley Nursery and Meramec Valley Nursery. David worked with his father who owned & operated Meramec Valley Nursery until Feb 2003. Then he opened Peaceful Valley Nursery in Cuba.
David had over 45 years in our industry, and designed and installed some of the best landscapes in the St. Louis region. Regretfully, David lost his long battle with Cancer on April 24th. There will be a big void to fill in our industry. He will be missed by many that knew him.
But, we will carry forward. After years of competitive rivalry, we are very excited to provide even better service to our customers and continue the legacy of these two amazing landscape businesses as we merge into one. Current staff have made this transition very seamless!
Thank you to all our customers old and new for all you have done for us!
Erik Lowes is the President of Lowes Landscaping today. At the age of 21 Erik went into the business full time, with 1 employee. Today Lowes Landscaping has grown to a staff of 9 employees, has a retail garden center, and is known as a leading provider of the best quality landscape services around the Cuba area. Every year Lowes Landscaping participates in PLANET's (the voice of our inustry) "Day of Service" in which we volunteer our talents to enhance the beauty and function of our community while spreading awareness of our trade. This is done every year on Earth Day. This past year Erik and the entire crew landscaped a new bed at a local non-profit daycare facility in Cuba, and taught the youngsters how to plant, water, and care for plants and vegetables that they can grow in their very own homes. Erik is an active volunteer. He currently serves on the board of directors as Vice-President for the Cuba Chamber of Commerce, the current President of the Cuba Lions, and is on the Board of Directors for Mid-Ozark C.A.S.A. He also serves on the Cuba Volunteer Fire Dept, Viva Cuba, and helped organize a local gardening seminar series in the winter, along with helping at numerous local events. Erik holds industry certifications from PLANET, is an ICPI Level 1 installer, NCMA certified for segmental retaining walls, and is a Missouri Master Gardener.
